One of the oldest French cities, Clermont-Ferrand, has been known by Greeks as the capital of the Arvernie Tribe before developing under the Gallo-Roman era under the name of Augustonemetum in the 1st century BC.  It is in this city where we reclaimed an historic lot of French reclaimed terra cotta tile.  It was extremely high-fired in wood burning kilns as one can see how baked the terra cotta clay is.  The wood firing gives the tile it's color variation and the high fire blesses this clay with nearly white, baked earth butter yellows and blush colors.  The patina looks and feels stone-like and it's edging is precise allowing for elegant, tight grout lines.  An historic and splendid jewel of a floor.

Recommended Sealer after Installation:  Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring

Cleaning and Maintenance:  This lot will need surface cleaning after installation. Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
