The Cité de Carcassonne is a medieval citadel located in the French city of Carcassonne, which is located in the south of France, not far from Toulouse.  Founded in the Gallo-Roman period - the Cité is in a strategic location between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.  It was also strategic for us to have salvaged a beautiful lot of French reclaimed terra cotta tile hexagons in this region.  A consistent thickness of 7/8" will allow for a tight grout line - showing off the fine, aged edging.  The colors mirror the bricks of historic Carcassonne homes - where various dark and light clay and terra cotta hues bring us back in time.  Finally, with a 150-year old patina that highlights the wear from those who have come before this clay floor - this lot can easily induce reverie of life in the Middle Ages.

Recommended Sealer after Installation:  Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring

Cleaning and Maintenance:  Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
