BackCovering kitchen walls with decorative blue and white tiles from Rouen, Monet knew he was breaking ground yet grounded in history in order to achieve his blue and white kitchen. Originating from Islamic culture to cover surfaces with decorative tile, this influence then traveled to Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands, mimicking color and motif from the Chinese to finally find it's own style in Rouen, France. Pavé wanted this Collection - and frustrated by the price point, long ETA's and quality control, I repainted Monet's classic blue and white tiles from Rouen. Hand decorated on a European hand made porcelain bisque with white opaque glaze, the rich blues against the white, lightly crackled tile are clean and elegant. Cuisine de Monet, due to it's vintage elements yet geometric motifs, lends itself beautifully to a modern or traditional decor. Printable PDF TEAR SHEET is down below.
