French and American husband and wife team, François and Emmi Micallef opened Pavé in 2000. Born and raised in the South of France, François' direct relationships in France allows Pavé to import quality European materials at highly competitive pricing. From Dalle de Bourgogne and French Limestone to Wide-Plank French Oak Flooring and Reclaimed Roof Tiles, Pavé furnishes homes across the country with the finest materials for the European appointed home. As an artist, Emmi Micallef designs the flooring and wall collections for Pavé Tile. Using hand made European terra cotta tile as their canvas, François and his crew glaze and kiln fire her designs in their Massachusetts facility.
Wide Plank Oak Floors have been their next endeavor. Concerned about quality control, price point and ETA, they now produce their own French-Inspired Wide Plank Oak Flooring Collection called Provence Ancienne at their Massachusetts location. François bringing the French techniques to Pavé, they age and work with the natural tannins of the wood changing it's composition to achieve authenticity. Creating European inspired old world Flooring has been François and Emmi's passion since the beginning of Pavé - never forgoing quality that ensures flooring lasting for generations.
In August 2010, Pavé Tile relocated to a newly renovated 15,000 square foot warehouse in Florence, MA. In addition, they have a 2500 square foot humidity controlled receiving warehouse for their Provence Ancienne Wide Plank Oak Flooring.
